I am pleased to share with you my Mathematics CPD offer for the  17/18 academic year.

The courses are:

 

Mathematics Subject Leader Networks – These half days will support subject leaders in keeping up-to-date with recent mathematical developments, receiving CPD and sharing experiences. Each meeting will include a gap task which will be followed up in the next meeting.

Cost – £45 per delegate  or book three for £120 or all four for £155.

Mathematics Curriculum Modules – “What you need to know!” –

Audience: The modules are aimed at KS2 teachers but are open to anyone!
The modules will support teachers in using concrete apparatus and visual representations to explore mathematical conventions and to deepen conceptual understanding.
Module 2 Geometry and Measures: 15th January 2018 1:00 – 3:45
Module 3 Algebra and Statistics: 6th February 2018 1:00 – 3:45
Where – Mount Pellon Primary Academy, Pattinson Road, Halifax HX1 4RG
Cost – £70 per delegate per part with a £10 discount per additional teacher from the same school. Special offer – book the two remaining  modules for £120 (£110 for additional teachers from the same school)

 

 

Developing the role of the Teaching Assistant

Audience: – HLTAs and Teaching Assistants
Course Content:The modules will support teaching assistants in exploring ways to use concrete resources and pictorial representations to develop pupil’s conceptual understanding. Questioning techniques will also be considered and common misconceptions in fractions will be addressed.
The modules will support the teaching assistants in having the ability to develop children’s independence as learners so they think for themselves and become resilient learners as well as developing their own confidence in their mathematical learning

Module 1  Fractions – developing the understanding of fractions  Concrete Resources: –

Module 3 Questioning: 20th February 2018 1:00 – 3:15
Where – The Innovation Centre, Bradford BD1 5BD
Cost – £50 per delegate per module with a £10 discount per additional participants from the same school.
